I have recently dissected last years journal. I found the ambitious size to be too much for me. So I've been pulling pages and folding them in half, and adding them to a previous book. Translation? I now have a really funky journal that is over stuffed and hard to use!I have had writers block for some time now. At least in my journals. Just not sure what to say these days. A full head...a full life, but documenting feels all wrong. So I've been sticking to bigger words, feelings, ideas. Things I can look back on and remember where I was at. These are a few pages I created during JOURNALFEST classes. The top one was an assignment to begin on a blank white page.
And the other two are more typical layering demo's. But these guys won't be getting folded down the middle. But they did get sliced out of the old book...
Not being able to write I will say its a sign of inner peace.. Time to breath and enjoy :)
Love, Hanne

Hello Ana! I try to pop in now and again to see your gorgeous portraits. Love-love-love that POP of color you always incorporate. (I am chartreuse and orange... been cheating on red for years, who could pick just one)
It always brings a smile whenever I visit blog/flickr/papaya ~ so uplifting to see such strength in these 3 faces and many others. Your friend, Vicki P.S. recently got your fat papaya catalog, yum!

Any chance you'll ever publish a collection of your own journal pages like Spilling Open?

Bulky though they may be, they are gorgeous! When I'm stuck for words, which I often am, I look for a quote that resonates what I'm feeling that day.
I'm not sure if I've ever taken the time, Anahata, to tell you how much your art has inspired my journey over the past two years. I returned to art after a long hiatus, which left me filled with doubt and insecurity about my ability to create. So, I began to search for inspiration and enlightenment, and I found you! Although, I've never been able to attend to one of your retreats, in my imagination, I've traveled time again with you to Bali. I've even had what I called "My Own Private Bali" retreats in my studio.
Your joyful outlook and adventurous spirit is contagious, and I want to thank you for what you've given me.
Today, I announced a blog event that I'm hosting, to benefit relief efforts in Haiti. I'm not sure if you know Rebecca (of the Cigarbox shrine auction), but she's helped me organize an on-line art auction, which you can read about at http://amusingmuses2.blogspot.com
I hope you will consider putting my logo and link on your blog, as the success of the auction depends on entirely on the number of people that know about it.
Thank you again for continuing to shine your light on others and for making this world more beautiful.
Love,
Kathy/Alberta

I'd say follow your instinct, the pages do not need more words than you've already added.
