As you know I bought my first home last summer. I'm still basking in the many delights of this place and this week I have a new appreciation of it. LIGHT! I loved my beautiful Bungalow rental, covered head to toe in dark woods and even darker window exposure. After a few years it felt like I lived in a cabin, in the woods. Having just past daylight savings, and knowing spring is only a few buds away, I couldn't believe it this week. Winter is pretty much over and it never really had an impact on me this year. The seasons just flew by and felt like a blink in time!
And I'm guessing this is simply because I have more LIGHT in my life quite literally thanks to all my lovely windows, pale wall paint and good exposure. It's a game changer. In my old place we didn't see light in our house until after 8:30 am.
We'd wrestle ourselves out of bed and I would always complain that getting up in the dark is un natural. To my suprise it wasn't the sun that was the problem. All winter I've had early morning light as soon as we're awake at 7 am here. I can tell you light has changed everything and I feel so inspired to be part of the seasons again. I'll never under estimate my sensitivity to sunlight exposure. If you're living in the dark I can tell you it's worth a change... Happy time change!
