(image: Moon & Back) I hear ya! As someone who is responsible for creating greeting cards for PAPAYA! in the last 10 years, Valentine's Day has been a stressful concept for me I'll admit. What do I make? Does it have to be pink? Hearts? Do people even use Valentines? Oh it's Valentine's Day ...again!(Image: I Wuv You) For the first five years of PAPAYA! our customers where patient with me since I protested designing for holidays at all! I just couldn't wrap my mind around designing for occasions. I guess I was suffering from artsy snobbery and definitely some creative blocks.
(Image: on my mind) Sounds funny but it was true. But now I revel in the opportunity and find new ways to celebrate, and design for, the deeper meaning behind these so called cheesy holidays. I guess I've made peace with the holidays. Having PAPAYA! LIVING boutique (our flagship store) has made all the difference.
(Image: Love Feather) Now I get to see customers light up when they find just the right thing. Its given a face to all the years of holiday requests. Now I can see and delight, face-to-face with the people who are actually applying the designs in their life and relationships. It's made it all very real and energizing!
(Img: Love Cameo) There's lots of designers like me out there trying to make holiday gifts just a little more beautiful & meaningful. We are working to overcome the same reluctance you might have and find creative solutions to celebrate the people we love in a way that doesn't feel quite so cheesy. How are you going to handle the meaning of Valentine's Day? Can't say I ever complained about a little extra attention from my loved ones and certainly Ive never complained about chocolate! Sending love to ya all! Xoxox...(Img: Honey Love)

I love your designs.
