Something has been brewing inside me. I guess a strange new fondness for sparkle. I've always liked less twinkly glam like metal, bone, natural stones. But actual sparkle is working it's way...inch by inch back into my psyche for the first time since childhood. And what better excuse to be tacky and fantastic (all at the same time!) than New Years Eve!

Lucky for me tomorrow nights holiday sparkle party a friend is having, has me in the spirit. I am also hosting Christmas at my house and these glitter feathers are the perfect centerpiece idea! (and great recycle gift on New Years!) There's a lovely
tutorial here from
Ryan&Michelle. I'm also suddenly compelled to buy my first record player to match the mood.
I know, I know! I don't own a single record.

For the big night I'm day dreaming about starlet hair from the 70's and the 30's. Indeed I think thinking about all the fun is usually more fun than the actual ball drop! Truth be told, I've never had a fabulous New Years. ( I know right.) But boy have I given it my all. It's not for lack of trying but perhaps the hype is hard to match?

I'm clinging to hope and the fun of the dress-up-goodness. I'm gonna go through the motions and enjoy the ride. And for sure greet 2013 in my sparkly best! What are you doing? (All images are sourced via
Pinterest and pinned to my
New Years Eve inspiration board.) Oh and my local peeps...
Papaya Living! is brimming with New Years dress up gear! Come play!
What a magical trip to NY . . .where is the photo of the winter scene with buck and owl taken? I love it.
