(image via August Empress) Last year at PAPAYA! LIVING I painted the windows instead of doing heavy displays for the holidays. (no, not these amazing windows) It turned out pretty cool but I was limited using those big, dorky, window paint sticks. Which don't work that well. But none the less the results where fun.
(Photo by Amy Walters) So this year I've dugg up some better materials and some incredible inspiration for transforming our store windows this year. (And yes, it really is time to start planning holiday details.) I'm going to give it a much better go! And now I'm kind of obsessed with the idea of painting ANY window. For anything! So puuurdy! This image is my favorite! By Barcelona artist, Kikayis. And there is a very cool video feature of the artist in action on designworklife. This is absolutely enchanting. equally cool could be window stenciling using stencils from the famous, Royal Design Studio of course...(not sure who makes the one shown here.) (this artwork by Yoko Furusho and she also has a stunning video of her work in progress.)
I've definitely got window-art fever now. And I'm dreaming of doing my own glass doors at home. Crossing my fingers the window paints I find are easier to use than that goofy window paint stick!
