You win some ya lose some. I reworked this image about four times today. And ended up ruining her. Something that I rarely do is cover up or abandon images.
In fact I'm completely against it. But alas today I couldn't save or finish her and she ended up becoming plain paint again. Another go at the background tomorrow. Like it never existed...
phooey... Such is life...

I so know this feeling! I had a couple of days like this last week - following a break from painting over the summer. It is so frustrating at the time but always makes for a better painting... in the end! A friend of mine says it.s like doing scales on a piano - you must warm up - particularly if you've had a break. Your work is beautiful Anahata, I look forward too seeing this one as it works itself out.
Thanks for sharing - it.s good to know we all have days like this.

It happens and I know how bad we feel for having to cover up something we worked on for long hours. But hey, you know she was there, it's just underneath :)

Love what you do but was wondering, the Caran d' ache neocolor's on the table, are they the water-soluble ones? or water resistant?
