It's been a couple years since I did some design work for a friend who was beginning a brave, sustainably run, sushi business. Origami Catering. I had completely forgotten about this project since we no longer have their freshie goods at our Ashland Markets.
Origami Catering is now a booming wholesale and catering company in the Portland area. I still don't do custom design anymore. But I'm always proud when I get to see a product with a secret stamp from my design kitchen!
And in a more traditional, Japanese spirit check out these gorgeous postcard images from Cairlinn's Stream. Cherry blossoms are blooming here in Oregon and somehow the idea of them in Japan sounds all the more exciting! IS there anything better than giant, pink, flowery trees?

Very cool, Anahata! Your friend is very lucky.

Oh I wish there were blooms in Wisconsin... not even close to Spring, yet... these images are beautiful.

I love this fresh design with oriental flair. You are so talented and your friend was blessed to have you design for their new product.

I now understand why my friend said I should come here. This is a kindred place. I can't wait to put your shop on my sidebar and I look forward to becoming acquainted with your magical worlds. Your PaPaYa places are everything that celebrates the joyous mind and world. I am glad to know your light and that of your fellow creatives. Blessings and bliss, Amy Sperry Faldet

Your drawings and illustrations are amazing, truly. But, wait, hey! east Asian catering called "origami", huh? If going only for the word why not "Ninja!" or "Sayonara!". Good for them I love sushi, so I'll take it anyway :)
