Thank you to everyone who wrote to me yesterday. I actually feel a little silly for posting my reaction publicly. But I appreciate the support and it helped me get it off my chest. Moving on though and back at the drawing board. This lil' lady is my new bird catcher and part of a new love affair I'm having with color. Suddenly I am becoming interested in color in more subtle ways. I remember this article about a master gardener and the magazine asked her how she achieved such beautiful colors and moods. She said that when she began she use to put a lot of contrasting colors together in her gardens. But that slowly over time she learned that subtle transitions created a more soothing as well as more powerful impact. I have always remembered this article (not the name though) and the past few weeks the ideas she spoke about have been haunting me. So I too am playing around with subtle transitions (at least more subtle for me). Doing more painting in Belize is helping me with some foundation skills that I needed brushing up on. The process is so much more internal and lengthy but I can feel it's impact on me even when I jump back on the computer. So that's what I'm up to on my trip here in the states. I'm already looking forward to being back in Belize next week but not until I've gotten a great big dose of designing in.

It's better to get it off your chest. Then instead of feeling poisoned and awful, things get back in perspective and you can get back to doing what you do best.
Papaya is a giant in the "fabulous card" world. Think of the rip-off people as a few sappy weeds struggling along beneath you.
The UK bangs on about being the forefront of the card world and I think this goes to show one should not be intimidated by this attitude. There is both great and less than mediocre everywhere.
We all know which one you are.

i love this Anahata! She is beautiful. I understand your frustration, I cannot stand people or companies with no integrity. Its like cheating at a game of cards. Your work and designs are beautiful ,and cheers to you for being courageous and brave in your statements. It is so important to know who you are, obviously they have no identity. Shame on them!

Your work is amazing and truly original! Those knock-offs don't even compare! i'm sorry that you're having to deal with that - it brings unnecessary negativity into your life doesn't it? Congratulations on your success! ;) Keep doing what you love! i found you thru we heart it.

Hey Anahata -
first off, I love my calendar organizer book that i got from your site. it makes me happy every day.
second - in regards to people copying your original work - how sad for them that they don't trust their own creativity and ideas enough to take the kind of leaps of faith you have had to do in order to create the life and art and journey that you are on. no matter what they do, they can't take away your unique perspective, and your destiny as a successful, happy human.
so, scrape of the goo, and keep living your juicy life. they can't touch that, no matter how hard they try,
lots of love,
Lisa

You have the true vision and will
always been on to the next creation, color and design. I know from personal experience what a betrayal it is to have your work
copied. The difference is you are
the art it comes from inside you and that can't be copied.
Example A, The Bird Catcher, Just
stunning in every way!
~hugs~

This reminded me of this company- Rock Candy- that I used to see all the time. They innovated and created the whole crazy color/glitter nail polish craze of the 90s. Then everyone copied and now they don't even exist.
It's a survival of the fittest thing- sometimes the competition in nature as well as commerce doesn't reward the nice, but rather the greedy.
(Maybe it's time for you to evolve again, blow them all away again, by using your journal pages as images for cards! I'd buy those in a second!)

I do hope you wont judge everyone in the UK by the standards of some who have no morals or standards. I pride myself on having a wonderful friendship with my US friends.....and long may that be so. Peace and love to all x
